When I mention to people that I knit, I usually get 1 of 2 reactions:
1. “Knitting is for old ladies”
2. “Knit me something!”
Sometimes, I get both. Ugh. Sometimes I think it’s a little pushy for people to ask you to knit them something. It’s completely different if I offer to knit you something, but begging me to knit you something is a bit annoying. Just a bit.
I started to learn how to knit this summer and have made a few accessories. I really wanted to knit after seeing my friend knit her boyfriend a really nice scarf and I thought it would better than the scarves I saw in stores.
I only just started, which is why they look pretty simple. Also, I’m not a fan of scarves so much so I knitted a couple of cowls. If you’re wondering about the first one, I used scrap yarn I found in my house, hence the weird 70′s-retro colors of that hat with the earflaps.
The one thing I find about knitting is that once you get the hang of it, it’s pretty mindless (unless it’s a really complicated pattern) so you can watch TV or play a laggy game of Sims while you knit.
